Mavengity's Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence

Our core principle

Mavengity's articles are drafted with the assistance of AI tools and reviewed by a human author before anything is published. The author named on the byline reads the draft, checks it against its sources, and corrects it until every claim holds up. The byline is not a decoration: it names the person who reviewed the piece and is responsible for it.

Why we draft with AI

We use AI for the part of writing that can be done well by a machine: turning verified research into clear, readable prose. That choice exists for one reason, and it is a reason about people, not technology. Every hour our authors spend arranging sentences is an hour not spent checking a court filing, reading a clinical trial, or chasing down the original document behind a claim. AI drafting lets a small, independent team cover more ground, and cover it more carefully, than its size would otherwise allow. The judgment stays human. The typing does not have to be.

How we use AI

Our editorial process uses AI tools in three roles:

• Research assistance. AI tools help our authors gather, summarize, and cross-reference source material, such as regulatory filings, court records, clinical studies, company disclosures, and public data, before writing begins.
• Drafting. AI language tools draft article text from that verified research, under the guardrails described below.
• Proofreading. AI-assisted spelling and grammar tools are used during editing, the same way a human copy editor would be, to catch typos and formatting errors.

The guardrails built into drafting

AI drafting at Mavengity does not run free. Every draft is produced inside a strict set of inbuilt rules:

• Every factual claim must trace to a cited source, and the sources are gathered and verified before drafting begins.
• Quotes are kept short and attributed, never fabricated.
• Topics are screened against our editorial and advertising policies before writing, and the finished draft is screened again before it can go live.
• Coverage of health, legal, and other sensitive subjects follows written care rules: no speculation presented as fact, no false certainty, full weight given to safety.
• Links in the finished article are checked against the draft, so the sources a reader follows are the sources that were actually used.

The review step

Before an article is published, the author named on its byline reviews the draft against its sources and corrects it where needed. What passes review is not a raw machine draft: it is an article the author has checked, corrected, and approved. If an error is found later, it is corrected in the article itself, in line with our corrections policy.

AI in our website and publishing infrastructure

Beyond editorial support, AI is used extensively to build and run Mavengity itself: the site's structure, page templates, front-end code, tracking script implementation, and the automated systems that take a finished article draft and turn it into a published page, including category listings, related-article grids, and sitemap updates.

This is a core part of how Mavengity operates. None of Mavengity's authors are developers, and none have extensive technical or coding knowledge. Without AI assistance, running a website like this, and the systems behind it, would not be realistic for the team. AI is what makes it possible for our authors, who otherwise publish in other mediums, to also run and maintain an independent website of their own.

What AI does not do

AI tools do not invent sources, quotes, or data, and we do not publish claims that cannot be traced to the cited sources. AI does not decide what Mavengity covers or how a story is framed; those editorial judgments belong to the authors. And AI never publishes without human review: no article goes live before the author named on its byline has checked and approved it.

Mavengity Media

Some Mavengity articles are illustrated by Mavengity Media, Mavengity's visual label. These illustrations are created with AI image tools, and each is marked on the page as "Illustration: Mavengity Media". They are original depictions made for the article they accompany: they are not photographs of the events they illustrate, and they are never a photographic record. Where details matter factually, the article text is the authority, not the image.
